1974 is a five-piece progressive/classic rock band.
Focusing on concept albums set in a
technologically advanced future, 1974 crafts a musically diverse and dynamic soundscape full of riffs, hooks, and vocal harmony to tell complex stories.
In 2012, the band won "Best New Band" at the 1st Annual CT Music Awards at The Bushnell Theater. The following year, the band won "Best Rock Band".

Ein so seltsames Album ist mir lange nicht mehr untergekommen. Der Track „Blood Of The Rose“ lässt den Hörer die Stirn in Falten ziehen. Eine zuckersüße, liebliche, kitschige Melodie dringt an das Ohr des Hörers. So säuselt der Song eine Weile vor sich hin, bis er plötzlich etwa bei Halbzeit (es handelt sich um einen 10minüter) komplett die Stimmung wechselt und plötzlich mit zupackender Gitarre und Sprech-Gesang in einen floydige Bluesrock-Hymne umschlägt... sehr kurios! BBT are standard bearers for modern prog, with a sound that evokes the spirit of those legendary 70s bands whilst managing to also be thoroughly contemporary. It's astonishing that over 30 minutes of music of this quality, with such high production values, is being made available for free - and their full albums are also very reasonably priced...
